Last updated:
This policy explains what personal information SureSight collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can see or correct it. We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Where information crosses provincial or national borders in the course of our business, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may also apply.

When you book, ask a question or have us do work, we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the address where the work is done;
- details of the job: what’s going on, what we found and what we did;

Website data
Our website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the site are useful. It collects the pages you view, your device and browser type, your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your internet connection), and whether you click a Call, Book or Google reviews button. It does not identify you by name, and we do not send it your name, phone number, email or anything you type into a booking form. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to tell one visit from another. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to:
- book your appointment and get in touch about it;
- do the work;
- invoice you and keep our business records;
- send you inspection reports, photos and video;
- answer your questions;
- improve the website (using the anonymous website statistics above).
We don’t use it for anything else without asking you first.
Service providers, and storage outside Canada
We use outside service providers that handle personal information for us. We name the main provider in each category where we use one:
- Scheduling, booking and invoicing (ServiceM8). When you book or send a question through our website, your details go to ServiceM8.
- Payment processing
- Website analytics (Google Analytics), as described above.
- AI-assisted writing and document tools (for example Anthropic’s Claude), used to help prepare inspection reports, quotes and messages.
- Cloud file storage
We only share the information each provider needs to do its job, and we do not sell personal information.
Any of these providers may store or process your information outside Canada. When information is stored or processed in another country, it may be subject to the laws of that country, and the authorities there may be able to access it under those laws. If you have questions about how these providers collect, use, disclose or store personal information outside Canada, or want written information about our policies for service providers outside Canada, contact our Privacy Officer using the details above.
We don’t sell personal information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
Inspection reports and video
Inspection reports, photos and video of your lines are shared only with you, or with people you ask us to share them with, such as your realtor, insurer or the City of Calgary.
How long we keep it
We keep invoices and payment records for seven years, as required for tax purposes. Other personal information is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.
Your rights
- Access: you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: if something is wrong, you can ask us to correct it.
- Withdrawing consent: you can withdraw your consent to us using your information, subject to legal or contractual limits. We’ll tell you what that means for any work we’re doing for you.
To make any of these requests, contact the Privacy Officer by email or phone. We’ll respond within the time PIPA allows.
If you’re not satisfied with how we handle your information or your request, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
