Video inspection

Sewer camera inspection in Calgary

We run a camera through your main sewer line (a sewer scope) and show you what’s in there. Book it with a written report for $250, or as a $100 drain check when something just doesn’t seem right.

When you need one

Most people book a camera inspection for one of two reasons. You’re buying or selling a home, making an insurance claim, or backing up a request to the City of Calgary, and you need proof on paper. Or several things are acting up, or something just doesn’t seem right, and you want a straight answer.

What the camera covers: the inspection covers your main sewer line, the pipe every drain in the house shares. Smaller fixture lines, like kitchen and bathroom sinks, are diagnosed on the spot. Sometimes we can get a camera through, and sometimes the trap or fittings won’t allow it. Toilet lines can only be cameraed with the toilet removed.

What you get

Sewer inspection + written report. We camera your sewer line as far as the camera can go and document it: snapshots, notes and the video file, delivered as a written report you can hand to anyone, like your realtor or insurer.

Drain check + sewer camera. We check every concern you have, run a camera through your main sewer line, and tell you plainly what’s going on, what needs doing now, and what can wait.

If the camera finds damage

We clean, cut roots and inspect. We don’t dig up (excavate), line or replace sewer pipe. If repairs come up, we show you the defect on camera, and you get repair quotes from a contractor who does that work.

Questions

How much does a sewer camera inspection cost in Calgary?

The sewer inspection + written report is $250: we camera your sewer line as far as the camera can go and give you snapshots, notes and the video file. If you want a straight answer about what’s going on without a report, the drain check + sewer camera is $100. Prices in CAD, plus tax.

I'm buying a home. Can you inspect the sewer line?

Yes. Our sewer inspection + written report is $250: we camera your sewer line as far as the camera can go and give you snapshots, notes and the video file in a report you can hand to your realtor, insurer or the City of Calgary.

Can you put a camera down my drain?

On main sewer lines, yes, and the camera check is included in every main-line job. On kitchen and bathroom sinks it depends on how the pipes are laid out: sometimes we can get a camera through, and sometimes the trap or fittings won't allow it, so we diagnose on the spot. Toilet lines can only be cameraed with the toilet removed.

Can you fix what the camera finds?

If it’s a clog, roots or build-up, yes: clearing those is our work. We don’t dig up, line or replace sewer pipe. If the camera shows damage, we show you the defect on camera and you get repair quotes elsewhere.
